Texas E-Read logo

E-Read Texas provides 20,000 e-books and audiobooks to eligible public libraries in Texas. The collection contains popular adult fiction and non-fiction, as well as some young adult crossover materials. You’ll find newly published titles from well-known authors, as well as classics and independent fiction. There’s also a great selection of nonfiction titles to help you learn new things, such as languages, arts and crafts, gardening, or business skills. This program is administered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC).

Due to the unexpected closure of Baker & Taylor, access to BOUNDLESS, the ebook and audiobook application from Baker and Taylor for the E-Read Texas Program, will close down December 15, 2025. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is exploring all options to move the E-Read Texas program to another vendor, but a new app likely won't be available until March 2026 at the earliest. Unfortunately, this means there will be about two months with no e-book/audiobook access. Checkout history, wish lists, and holds will not transfer from Boundless to the new app, so please make a note of what you have on your list if you want to retain this information. This does not affect Libby by Overdrive, you can still check out e-books, audiobooks and e-magazines with your library card.
