Texas State Law Library: The Texas State Law Library has librarians on staff who will help you find legal information.  Contact information for the Law Library can be found on their website.  

The Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library: Big Spring Herald archives from 1921 to Sept. 2018 and the Big Spring Enterprise from 1908 to 1911 are now available online.  The Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library (SWC/SCL) at Texas Tech University in a cooperative project with Howard County Library has made this project possible.

Scholastic Teachables: (Library Card Required, type in the whole library card number.) Scholastic Teachables offers teaching resources for every subject such as lesson plans, mini-books and activity sheets to help educators plan for the school year. Teachables content extends from Pre-K to 6th grade.

Fiero Code: Learn how to code and make video games, websites apps, animations and more! Fiero Code is a self-guided learn-to-code software designed for ages 8-18, but it is open to all ages. Set up an account with your own log-in information. 

Weiss Financial Ratings Series Online: Follow the link to take advantage of important financial planning tools today! (Library Card Required, type in the whole library card number.) Financial Ratings Series Online, powered by Weiss Ratings and Grey House Publishing, gives you access to:

  • Independent, unbiased financial strength ratings of banks, credit unions & insurance companies.
  • Conservative buy-hold-sell ratings of thousands of stocks, mutual funds & exchange traded funds.
  • Option to create a personal watchlist & get upgrade/downgrade notifications.
  • Medicare supplement insurance information: which plans to choose from & how much they will cost. Compare rates & plan benefits.
  • Financial literacy & planning eBooks (PDF files to download and keep).

Craft & Hobby: Use your library card to get access to the largest catalog of on-demand learning available in the craft and hobby space. Craft & Hobby is an extensive online platform with on-demand streaming videos to learn about crafts and hobbies.

Craftsy en Español is also available- Craftsy, parte de Craft & Hobby, es una extensa plataforma en el internet de videos para aprender sobre manualidades y pasatiempos. 

ParentTV: In partnership with Family Place Libraries, ParentTV offers thousands of on-demand parenting videos and courses with content designed to support those who care for children, from pregnancy through to teenage years. Search and find videos on general parenting, play, behavior, child development, mental health, sleep, nutrition, technology and more. Most videos are under 10 minutes in length and can be accessed on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Follow the link and use your library card (and pin if applicable) to access ParentTV resources. Videos are also available in Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi and Spanish languages.
